Quiet study spots!

Finding a calm relaxing place to study is hard especially at college. You have all the all the distractions around you with parties, loud music, noisy people, and you feel like you have no where to go! But let me tell you, you do!

#1- THE LIBRARY

Let’s start with the obvious. For those of you scared of the library and the nerd persona consequences, consider this: It’s quiet. Those hardcore librarians accept nothing less. It’s comfortable you can find any number of cozy chairs, table arrangements, and nooks to set up your study time. And it has great information access.  And remember the “nerds” get the good grades. And the “nerds” go to the library!

#2- COFFEE SHOPS

Like most of us we need a little kick in the butt when it comes to studying. Or should I say a coffee! A coffee shop is perfect for studying, unless ambient noise is a distraction for you, like it could be for auditory learners. Most coffee shops have WIFI, so you can access info with your laptop. Many coffee shops have separate little booths for this use! So go ahead grab a java and get studying!

#3- A PARK

Yes you will need nice weather for this but so if you do you will actually be helping yourself get Vitamin D as-well as studying! Id there anything more relaxing then spreading a blanket down on the grass and studying? NOPE so go ahead and take advantage of mother nature! Like the majority of us you’ve been cooped up in a classroom and you need to see some green, consider taking yourself to the park for a study session common just try it. You could probably find an available signal for your laptop, and nothing says ambiance like chirping birds, wind rustling through leaves, and sun on your shoulders!

#4- SWITCH IT UP WITH THE CLASSROOM

If you’re worried about distractions from friends in the library, then consider taking yourself into an empty classroom to study. Sure, it’s not as comfortable as some of the other places to study, but information access is prime, especially if you find a teacher popping in and out. Plus, if you need 100% quiet during your study time, then this is a great option for you. Also many colleges have set “study times” in designated classrooms throughout the college. So NO you will not have to sit in the same one all day! If you find yourself day dreaming more about your new crush then pack up your books and switch to a new classroom! This one is best for me personally because I am a hopeless romantic and it is hard for me to concentrate!

#5- STUDY PARTNERS HOME

One of the overlooked places to study is at your study partner’s house(if they live off campus of course). First, you’re getting the benefit of working with someone else who shares your same goals. Second, you have the benefit of information access without having to look anything up online. You can ask your study partner who’s in the same class as you. So grab some snacks, sodas, and get studying. This can be a lot of fun!
